I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED 2

READ I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED 1 Here, but if you've done that already, Lets go!!

My last experience with the shirt was glued to my memory.

So I went to the cinema but I was super cautious. I could not even eat popcorn peacefully.
Mom warned me not to go out, so I knew something bad was going to ensue.

Will my trouser tear this time? Or what sort of attack will I experience?
I was unstable and could not enjoy the movie.
I began to sweat profusely till I decided to head back home.

My friends were thinking why I suddenly acted up so weird but I had no time to explain anything.
I entered the next bus and began to head home.
The day came to an end and nothing happened.

Seems I did escape fate this time. But unknown to me,
A greater adventure awaited me.

We just moved into our new place and I was struggling to adapt and know new people.
Everyone just seemed strange and the rest.
Since the moving in was quick, there was a lot I had to learn.

My new street was different from the old one. They were tons of people living here and new faces emerged every day.
As a social type, I could not wait to start familiarizing and getting to know people.
But Mom told me it was way too early and if I wanted knowing anyone, she would have to know the person too.

That aside, our new location brought me closer to my long-lost friend, Patrick.
We used to be very close but lost contact due to the Pandemic. He was my right hand man when we were in school.

We got to see one fateful day and he welcomed me warmly to the street.
We talked until we decided to branch a nearby store to purchase some items.

While Patrick was making the purchases, what my eyes beheld, words cannot explain.
A cute young damsel walked into the store to make some purchases and she was outstandingly gorgeous.

She did steal my attention because she was the real definition of beauty and magnificence.
Her outfit revealed her protruding hips and sleek thighs.
I was mesmerized and my mouth opened in awe.

I tapped Patrick vigorously and asked who she was, but he claimed to have never seen her before.
I needed to know more about this damsel.

Summoning some courage, I smoothed my eye-brows seductively and took a bold step towards her.
I walked to the counter as though I wanted to make a purchase too.

Her smile was heart-warming and sent chills down my sweaty back, I lacked the appropriate words to start a conversation so I was just smiling like an imbecile.

She smiled and talked first, thereby introducing herself.
I am Nkechi, she said, and would should I call you? ; while she stared at me with so much seduction.

I froze and for a moment I forgot my name because I was lost in a gaze. Coming back to reality, I answered.
“I’m John, though you can call me Johnny”.

Still smiling, she said I was funny and gave me her phone number.
Just like that! It seemed bizarre but after-all, love is blind.

I had fallen in love deeply with Nkechi. It was love at first sight.

Patrick was shocked how the conversation was so smooth and she just gave out her digits.
I believed it was my charisma and I did not care to investigate.

\
With time, I and Nkechi began fervent calls and texting which kept on advancing to different levels.
I proposed my love to her and she said she loved me too.

My head was already spinning and clouded in emotions.

Within a month, we met a couple of times and I decided it was time she saw my Mom.
She came and I presented her to my Mom, they began to discuss and get along and I believed I had found a wife.

So I thought.

That very night, My Mom called me deep in the night and said she had another revelation in her sleep.
What could it be again?
I have not committed any crime recently.

She said she saw Nkechi and she was not any ordinary lady and she was after my destiny.
I was shocked and refused to believe Mom.
How could she see that about the love of my life?

And what destiny is Nkechi after though? I had no money and direction yet.
Mom’s dream must be misplaced or under the influence of malaria.

I explained to Mom that I loved Nkechi genuinely and the lady deserves a chance.
But Mom said I was viewing the matter in a carnal way and that there is more to the girl.

She then WARNED ME, never to see Nkechi again.

I was angered and love had control of my emotions.
I could still be seeing her but all I needed to do was to sneak out.

I began to sneak out time after time to see her and all was working out fine till one Freaky Friday dawned upon me.

I received a call from Nkechi.
She said she wanted to see me and it was urgent.
I told her that I can’t leave home like that without dropping the key with someone.

She began to sob in a romantic manner and said she cannot wait to touch me and make me feel like a man.
That statement sent my head spinning and my nerves agitated.

In the blink of an eye, I had taken a shower and gotten fully dressed up.
I locked the entire house and gate, since the environment was still new to me.

Then I zoomed off to see Nkechi.
I reached her apartment then we talked, had some romantic time and it was time for me to leave so I could return home unnoticed.

She said she misses me already and decided we stroll a bit while she drops me off.
I held her hands while we talked down a certain path and we were still talking.
Suddenly, she began to shout; “Snake! Snake!”

My heart skipped a beat and I began to search where such creature could be.
I jumped immediately, but she was calm and started to laugh saying, “Don’t worry, the only snake here is ME”.

I was shocked and did not understand the joke here. “The snake here is ME?”
Things got clear when she began to shrink and turned into a light-skinned huge snake.

So the love of my life wants to kill me. This is not the way love stories should unfold.
How will my body be found in a bush?

Tears began to come out from my eyes while I begged her to spare my life.
The apologies were ineffective as she began to crawl towards me with a speed I could not comprehend.
I began to run without looking back, so fast I did not know where I was going to.

I saw a bus, stopped it and entered.
Before, I could even breath well, I received a call from Mum and she was furious.

Her anger was not because I left, but I did not tell anyone I was leaving.
Dad noticed my absence and asked questions.
Things just got real bad.

At this point, I did not know whether I should cry or faint or give up the ghost.

Where could Nkechi be right now? The image of the snake kept on disturbing me as though I could feel her beside me.
How would I even reach home on time?

I wished I listened to Mom.
If I could go back in time, I will avoid women totally, so I mumbled in my heart.

I reached home and narrated the ordeal to my Mom and she prayed for me so I could get some sleep.

I was panting until I felt cold water upon my face.
I was shivering on my bed while my Mom was staring at me with a bottle in her hand.

“You are always oversleeping, would you wake up?” It was time for sanitation.
I cleared my eyes and looked at the clock. It read 8:03am.

So I was dreaming all this while.
I was so confused and perplexed, but I just knelt down and thanked God for saving me from the mysterious Nkechi.

The joy in my heart was extravagant.
It was all a dream and mere fantasy.

Dressing up and heading outside to start clearing the grasses.
I came across a lady that seemed familiar.
But I had no time for a conversation.

She stopped me and said, “John, you can’t run from me”.
My eyes cleared and it was Nkechi right in-front of me.
