EVERYBODY DE MENT 3: THE FINALE

Image
Read the  PART 1  here. Read the  PART 2  here. If you've already read both parts, let's go!! I do not know which was more insane. Me; joining a gang for robbery without any training or briefing. Or a rich man keeping a God-damn beast as a security personnel. Immediately, he screamed; “Release the mentor!” “Release him now”. The cage was opened wide and an elegant creature came through. It was a bit hard to fathom what was coming through because of the partial darkness created by the scattered street lights present in his estate. As soon as I could fully realize what was coming towards me and the boys. I fell down out of shock. IT WAS AN OSTRICH!! Which sane man in Nigeria would keep an ostrich for security purposes? Even in the movies, pets are either dogs or cats. If it has to be a bird, then it's a parrot. Not a freaking Ostrich. This definitely must be ment.  In case you do not know the capabilities of an ostrich; Let me enlighten you...

EVERYBODY DE MENT 2

Read the  PART 1  here, if you're reading for the first time. If not, let's go. It was Day Four. Reporting from the Ment Department or Department of Mental Health. It is actually true; The more time you spend with a group of people. You tend to behave like them. A Student of the Law was slowly losing his sanity. Spending four full days with mentally unstable people was actually turning me mad. Because the patients here are crazy, they don't spend much money to feed them. Since I was recruited to this band of clowns, it has been Ogbono soup and beans all the way. And the beans is extremely peppery and watery with the presence of stones and hair. Whether it's human or animal hair. I was opportune to see all categories of insane people and believe me, you haven't seen anything yet. I'll start with; The Shockers or The Shocked: This category are normal in behaviour until a shock wave comes upon them. They can begin to see their friends and loved ones. Wh...

My luck was that our registration numbers do not usually carry our names. If not, the entire department would be aware of my consistent low grades. Results were just released on the notice board and I did not even bother to check because I knew what I wrote. Scrolling through the registration numbers, I saw mine and it was the usual grade. "Let my people go" kind of grade. An E in Family Law. It was 7:37am and my first lecture was to begin my 8am. The class was so important as it was my major course. Constitutional Law. The lecturer in charge was Mr. Imo Udofa. He is quite brutal and usually adds PhD to his name. My black and white outfit was hanging roughly in my hostel locker and everything was set for lectures. But I couldn't just go like that. Though cooking was prohibited, I was steaming beans and nothing can make me leave this half-way. Food before education. Juggling the responsibilities of life and being an average law student wasn't easy at all. I was broke a...

For the PART 1 For the PART 2 . If you've read both parts, let's go !!! "Man impregnates event planner and bride". That was the caption of the article. Well, there's nothing a cheating man cannot do. I was intrigued; so I clicked on the link and started reading. Everywhere was dead silent as I kept on scrolling and giggling. The issue in this scenario is that I shouldn't be laughing, reading, or even holding my phone. I was in an examination hall using my phone to read articles. But nothing could possibly happen. I was under immunity. My HOD was invigilating and there's absolutely nothing he can do at the moment. We were brothers-in-arms. Any other student that attempted to talk or turn around would be punished or given the malpractice form. My grades were increasing abnormally. All of my departmental courses would either be an A or a B. I was living the dream life. But how did I get to this point? A deal was struck when I visited my HOD in his office on t...

Read, THE ATTACHMENT 1: ATTACHED HERE, If you have already done that. Lets go !!!! The shock was hot. So intense that I couldn't speak for some seconds. My girl is smashing my HOD or what? At that moment, I forgot the sole purpose that brought me here. So he was wrecking both my grades and my girl. I thought far and wide, and tried to maintain eye contact with Emilia to know what's going on. My HOD broke the atmosphere when he said, "Young man, why are you here?". I pulled myself together and replied; "I missed your test Sir, I was attacked by.…......." The man didn't even let me to complete my well-prepared lie. He screamed and told me to get out of his office. I resisted. He almost hit my head as he threw a white-board marker out of anger. I was still partially high so I saw the marker advance through the air in slow-motion and I dodged the projectile. You can't subdue a high Comrade. I was still begging when Emilia held his arm and said; "D...

I urgently needed to reach school and all the buses that were coming towards me at the moment were filled up. If I didn't spend the night on incognito tabs, I would have woken up quite early. I had a test that morning and the fear in me was extravagant. I can't afford to fail or miss this test because my CGPA was pretty low for a student that wants to graduate. I didn't really prepare for what was ahead of me. It was not the test that freaked me out, but the person administering the test. My Head of Department. He is the most punctual lecturer in the entire department and was so strict. Fierce like a tiger and dangerous like a viper. He's well known for making students write one course for up to two years. If a test was to begin by 10am. For other lecturers in my department; the test can start in the next two or three hours. But as for my HOD, By 9:59am; he is waiting at the door to shut it against late-comers. Once you miss that test, there is no redemption. You simply...

SWEET PAIN

Image
The policeman charged in through the parlour door and immediately what lay before his eyes, his brain could not assimilate. There was blood everywhere, which was accompanied by silence. But there was a voice. A soft and feeble one. Someone was still breathing.  The policeman rushed to pick him up, but life was draining out of him. He was bleeding profusely from his throat. The injured boy pointed towards my direction and spoke softly: “I am sorry” as he slipped from the arms of the policeman. He was dead. At this point, the policeman was perplexed and held the boy in his arms. But then he sighted me, right where the boy had pointed. With much speed and agility, he removed his gun and pointed it towards me. I froze instantly as Goosebumps arose throughout my entire body. Other policemen rushed into the parlour and pointed their ammunition simultaneously towards me. He then asked in a harsh tone, “Who is responsible for this!?” Amidst the tears rolling down my cheeks and the fear wit...
